Ari Vallin

Ari Vallin (born 21 March 1978 in Ylöjärvi ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is since April 2013 in Oulu Kärpät in the SM- liiga under contract.

Career

Ari Vallin began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of Tappara Tampere, for the first team he was in the SM- liiga, the top Finnish league, active from 1996 to 1998. During this period he played as parallel Players out on loan for Koo -Vee and Hermes Kokkola in the second class I- divisioona. For the 1998/99 season moved to HPK Hämeenlinna the defender, before he returned to his hometown club Tappara Tampere. In the 2000 /01 season he played again for the HPK Hämeenlinna. For the season 2001 /02 he was engaged by Jokerit Helsinki, with whom he immediately became Finnish Champion. The following season he won with Jokerit at European level the IIHF Continental Cup.

From 2003 to 2006 Vallin played for Kärpät Oulu. With the team he won for the seasons 2003/ 04 and 2004/05, also the Finnish championship. In the season 2006/ 07 he joined the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League before he went aground as Players out on loan for Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elitserien and the EHC Visp in the Swiss National League B. For the season 2007/ 08 he received a contract with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the Russian Super League, with whom he only failed to Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the playoff finals. From 2008 to 2010 he played again in the Swedish Elitserien, but this time for the Färjestad BK, with whom he won the Swedish championship title in the 2008/ 09 season.

For the 2010/11 season Vallin returned after four years abroad in his Finnish homeland and joined the HIFK Helsinki, with whom he immediately became champion also. In pre-season he also went to the HIFK in the European Trophy. In the rest of the season he came to being as a Players out on loan for Kiekko -Vantaa in Mestis. For the following season, he was obliged by the Espoo Blues before moving to HC Sparta Prague in June 2012. For Sparta, he completed until January 2013 supported 31 projects in the Extraliga and was then delivered to the Färjestad BK.

In April 2013 Vallin was taken again by Kärpät Oulu under contract.

Internationally

For Finland Vallin took part in the junior level at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1996 and the Under-20 Junior World Cup in 1998. In the U18 European Championship in 1996, he won the silver in the U20 World Cup 1998, the gold medal with his team. In the senior level, he stood in the years 2007 and 2009 in the squad of his country at the Euro Hockey Tour.
