Ariel programme

Ariel was a series of British measuring satellites that were brought in the 1960s and 1970s with U.S. Thor - Delta and Scout rockets into orbit.

Ariel 1 was the first satellite, which was realized with the participation of a foreign nation in the United States. Great Britain gave to this project the experiments, while NASA was responsible for the construction of the satellite and the launcher. Ariel 3 was then the first fully designed in the UK satellite, only the launcher had to be tabled by NASA.
