Murtala Mohammed International Airport

Arik Air Limited is a private Nigerian airline based in Lagos and based on the local Murtala Mohammed International Airport.

History

Arik Air was founded in 2004, took over on April 3, 2006, the facilities and infrastructure of the liquidated Nigeria Airways at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos and eventually took on 30 October 2006 the flight operation.

The Company received the 2008 permit for landing airports in the United States.

2009 founded Arik Air Arik Niger, the subsidiary, but which was finally abandoned in January 2011, after the routes during the year had been phased out after 2010.

In 2010, the airline ran into liquidity problems, and for non-payment of lease payments, an Airbus A330 -200 by the lessor in February 2011, was forcibly taken possession of it.

Destinations

Currently 28 goals in West Africa are served, including, for example, Freetown and Dakar, as well as London Heathrow, Johannesburg and New York - John F. Kennedy also three long-haul destinations.
