Arild Stavrum

Arild Stavrum 2008

Arild Stavrum ( born April 16, 1972 in Kristiansund ) is a former Norwegian football player and coach.

Club career

Stavrum began his professional career at SK Brann Bergen. After three seasons as a reserve player, he moved to Molde FK, where he achieved his breakthrough. Together with Ole Gunnar Solskjær and Ole Bjørn Sundgot he made an offensive trio, which was dubbed as " The 3 S". Stavrum enter the following two seasons, 26 goals for the club. He rose with his club in the first season in the Tippeligaen and became double winners. In 1995, he was with Molde runner-up in the Tippeligaen.

After a one-year commitment to Stabæk IF he moved abroad for Swedish club Helsingborgs IF. With 18 goals this season he was top scorer in the Swedish league Allsvenskan and cup winners. A year later he became Swedish champion with the club.

As a result Stavrum has long been at Rapid Vienna in the conversation. Shortly before signing the contract it was decided in Vienna, however, for the reigning top scorer in the German second division, Angelo Vier. Stavrum signed on the Scottish club Aberdeen FC. In Scotland Stavrum quickly became a crowd favorite. In the 2000 /01 season he scored 17 goals and was second behind the Scottish top scorer Henrik Larsson. After this strong season several international organizations were aware of him and sold him to Aberdeen Beşiktaş Istanbul. In Turkey, he could not establish himself as a regular player and scored five goals in 18 games. As a result, his contract was canceled after one year.

In summer 2002, the first FSV Mainz wanted to commit 05 Stavrum, but took just before signing the contract back the offer. According to the Association Stavrum was not in shape. Therefore, he was first out of contract, before he returned in the winter to Molde FK. Back home prevented him from many small injuries to return to form. After he only scored one goal in one and a half seasons, he finished his career in the summer of 2004.

Coaching career

2005 Stavrum began his coaching career at the former Norwegian third division Bærum SK. After he had led the Mavericks to fourth place in the standings, he was obliged by his old club Molde FK. In Molde, he acted luckless and rose at the end of the season from the Tippe - in Adecco Ligaen from. After the descent, he was released and worked subsequently as a TV expert on TV 2

In December 2007, undertook the Norwegian champion of 1966, Skeid Fotball, Stavrum as successor to coach Anders Jacobsen, with the Oslo club was relegated to the third-rate second divisjon. After 22 wins in 26 games this season he went with the team at the end of the 2008 and again in the Adecco Ligaen.

National

Due to many injuries and a strong forward line of Norwegians in the 1990s came Stavrum to only two appearances for Norway; while he scored a goal. He made his debut in 1995 against Israel.
