Aristid Lindenmayer

Aristid Lindenmayer ( born November 17, 1925 in Budapest, † 30 October 1989) was a Hungarian theoretical biologist.

In 1968 he developed a formal language as the basis of an axiomatic theory of biological development. More recently, the Lindenmayer system or L- system were mentioned systems application in computer graphics in the generation of fractals and in the realistic modeling of plants.
