Aristidis Kamaras

Aristides Kamara (Greek Αριστείδης Καμάρας, born March 2, 1939) is a former Greek football player.

Aristides Kamara began his career at Apollon Athens before joining Panathinaikos Athens 1961. With Panathinaikos he played for twelve years and won, among others, six Greek Championships (1962, 1964, 1965, 1969, 1970, 1972) and two cups (1967, 1969). Together with Frangiskos Sourpis he made it one of the up to now most central defensive duo of Greek football history. The highlight of his career was 1971, the participation in the final of the European Champions' Cup when, in London's Wembley Stadium was defeated 0-2 Ajax Amsterdam. Of particular importance is his two goals were the scoring in the semi-finals against Red Star Belgrade and Panathinaikos paved the way to the final. Aristides Kamara has a total of 359 Erstligaeinsätze (304 alone for Panathinaikos) in which he scored 20 goals.
