Aristotle of Cyrene

Aristotle of Cyrene ( Ancient Greek Ἀριστοτέλης ὁ Κυρηναῖος Aristotélēs Ho Kyrēnaíos Latinized Aristotle Cyrenaicus ) was a Greek philosopher from ancient Cyrene, who probably lived around the 4th century BC. You count him occasionally to the Kyrenaikern.

About Aristotle of Cyrene is virtually nothing is known. According to Diogenes Laertius, he was a teacher of the historian and the philosopher Kleitarchos Simmias of Syracuse. Whether he is actually to be expected for the school Cyrenaics, has been called into question. Also, according to Diogenes Laertius, he has written a treatise on poetics. According to Claudius Aelianus he should have been of the opinion that it should be possible to do any favors, because this could be difficult to be repaid under certain circumstances and it appears as ungrateful, if you do not do.

Clement of Alexandria mentioned at one point an athlete Aristotle of Cyrene.
