Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

The Arizona -Sonora Desert Museum is located near the Saguaro National Park near Tucson. The combination of a zoo, a museum and a botanical garden was founded in 1952 and has more than half a million visitors per year.

The focus of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is located in the animal and plant life of the Sonoran Desert. It is home to about 1,300 plant species and more than 300 different desert animals, which can be observed in their natural habitat. The museum was a pioneer in the welfare housing animals.
