Arja Koriseva

Arja Sinikka Koriseva (born 21 April 1965 Toivakka in Jyväskylä ) is a Finnish singer. She was known as tango singer; now her repertoire includes evergreens, Finnish pop and sacred music.

Life

Arja Koriseva comes from a musical family. Her parents were both active in the church choir, the Harmonikka player Erkki Friman is Arjas uncle. Arja and her sister Eija played with the group from 1978 Peräkyla Boys in youth hostels, holiday camps, restaurants and similar places. As our group dispersed, were Eija and Arja members of the group Kastanja.

In 1983, Arja Koriseva went to the Jyväskylä Polytechnic, the Conservatory of Music of Central Finland, to study singing. The following year Kastanja was the backing band for the singer Marjo -Riitta Nieminen aka Marjorie. Arja continued her education and went in 1985 to the Hämeenlinna - College, where she was trained as a teacher of Finnish and sport until 1989. In their conclusion, they took as a singer on Tangomarkkinat, the oldest tango festival in the world part, which she won and that was the beginning of her career as a singer. It was followed by numerous albums and tours that they not only led by Finland, but also to Canada, Australia, Jordan, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. With the Belgian singer Helmut Lotti took her 2001 duet "All My Life: Näkemiin " for the Finnish version of his album " Helmut Lotti goes Classic III " on.

In the years 1991, 1992, 1993 and 2004 Arja Koriseva took part in the national finals for the Euro Vision Song Contest, but never won. In 2000, she appeared as Eliza on in the musical " My Fair Lady", and from 2005 to 2006, she took over the role of Maria in the musical The Sound of Music. Also known as a voice actress, she worked, so she borrowed the figure " Pocahontas " in the Finnish translation her voice.
