Årjäng

Årjäng is a locality ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Värmland County, chief town of the same name.

The place is located in the southwest of the historic county of Värmland, about 30 kilometers from the Norwegian border at the northern end of the lake Västra Silen. The economy of Årjäng is mainly focused on the production of mobile phones and car accessories, but the structure is changed by the EU Member shaft Sweden on the one hand and the growing prosperity of Norway on the other. The decline in prices in the EU country Sweden and rising through the oil wealth price level in Norway produce a stress field in which the cross-border trade increased.

On the new marketplace on the E18 is an oversized troll figure, which is the largest of its kind in Sweden. On the balcony, to the troll in his arms, occur in the summer on various artists.

Tourist and ecologically significant is the unique in Sweden lakes landscape, is located in the center Årjäng. The great lakes are connected by the Dalsland Canal, so you can easily travel from lake to lake by boat. In particular, canoeists and hikers from all over Europe visit the place to break from there to their tours. The nature reserve Glaskogen ( Gla Forest) is located a few kilometers away.

There is also in place a harness racing track, which is advertised as "Sweden's most beautiful " by the operator.

Industry

The town is the seat of Lennartsfors AB, a manufacturer of forest machines and mopeds.
