The volcano Arjuno

Arjuno - Welirang is a complex volcano on the island of Java in Indonesia.

The volcanoes Arjuno ( 3339 m) and Welirang ( 3156 m) form the south-eastern and north-western end of the 6 -kilometer-long chain of volcanic cones and craters. The volcanic complex superimposed two older volcanoes, Gunung Ringgit to the east and the Gunung linting in the south. Neither the Arjuno nor the Welirang are forested. Several pyroclastic cones are located on the northern flank of the Welirang and south of the Arjuno. On the slopes of Welirang several Fumarolenfelder are also to be found with sulfur deposits. Historical records show two outbreaks on October 30, 1950 and in August 1952.
