Ark-La-Tex

As Ark- La -Tex - alternatively ArkLaTex - is a socio-economic region in the United States refers to the there is a common boundary of the four states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma. It includes areas from the North being Louisiana, the Northeast Texas ' southern Arkansas ' and the Southeast Oklahoma.

Although there is no official U.S. metropolitan area, about 1.04 million people living in this area on an area of about 120,400 square kilometers. The largest north-south expansion amounts to 386 km, the largest east-west extension to 312 km. The center of the region, the two cities Shreveport and Bossier City. Most of the region is located in the ecoregion of the Piney Woods, a dense forest with deciduous and coniferous trees and numerous mud puddles and swamps, which are in turn connected to the water-rich structures such as the Caddo Lake and the Red River.
