Arkadiusz Skrzypaszek

Arkadiusz Skrzypaszek ( born April 20, 1968 in Oświęcim ) is a former Polish athlete who was active in the modern pentathlon. He is one of the most successful and best-known modern pentathlon fighters Poland.

At his first Olympic participation at the Games in Seoul in 1988 he finished third in the individual competition the 23th rank in the team competition, he was with the Polish team in tenth. Four years later he won at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, both in individual competition as well as with the team a gold medal.

A year before his Olympic victory, he was in 1991 become individual world champion in San Antonio. With the team he won a bronze and a year later a silver medal at the World Championships in 1990. His only national title he won in 1991.

After the Olympic Games in Barcelona, he retired from active competitive sports.
