Arkady Luxemburg

Arkady Luxembourg ( b. 1939 ) is a Moldovan - American composer.

Life and work

Luxembourg received a Master of Arts at the University of Music in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova in the former Soviet Union, where he studied piano, composition and music theory. He worked as a teacher, concert pianist and accompanist at various institutions around the world. Its stations include the Republic of Moldova Academy of Music, the College of Music of Moldova, Moldova School of Music, the San Diego State University, Mesa College, the California Ballet and the David Yellin College. Several of his students have been known worldwide, including Maisenberg and Mark Seltzer.

Luxembourg has written several works on music theory and harmony. In 1967 he was awarded the Moldavian composer of the year. He is a member of the Association of Composers and ASCAP in the United States.

Among his best-known symphonic works: Sinfonietta, Symphony for strings, two concertos for piano and orchestra, Concerto for Cello with Orchestra, Symphony Fantasy Spring Melodies. Famous Works for piano solo include: Aquarelie, In Memory of Shostakovich, In Memory of Gershwin, Sonata, Sonatina, Bluses, Preludes.

Much of his work has been included. They are published regularly and played in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the former Soviet Union, Romania, Hungary, Israel, France and the United States. 1990 moved to Israel in Luxembourg, where he continued his career as a performer, composer and teacher. Since 1995 he lives in San Diego, California.
