Arkhangai Province

The Archangai Aimag (Mongolian Архангай Аймаг ) is an aimag ( province, region ) Mongolia and lies just west of the center of the country.

The name of this aimag means " northern Khangai ," and alludes to the location on the north side of the Khangai Mountains at.

Geography

The Archangai aimag is located in the interior of the country and borders the following aimags: Bulgan ( northeast), Öwörchangai (southeast), Bajanchongor (south), Dsawchan ( west) and Chöwsgöl (northwest).

Waters

In the valleys of the Khangai originate in Archangai the rivers Chuluut, Chanui and Tamir, all of which are among some of the smaller tributaries within the catchment area of the Selenge. In addition, the Orkhon flows for a short distance through the eastern end of the territory.

To the west of the National Park Khorgo Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur lies with the Lake Tsagaan Nuur, around which entwines an interesting origin legend. Traffic

The airport of Tsetserleg ( ZMTG / TSZ ) has a dirt runway, and offers regular services to and from Ulan Bator.

Administrative Divisions

The capital is geographically located Tsetserleg the Aimag in Bulgan Sum in the south, but is managed as an independent municipality. You should also not be confused with the Tsetserleg - Sum in the north.
