Armaan Ebrahim

Armaan Ebrahim ( born May 17, 1989 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu ) is an Indian racing driver. He is the son of former Indian Formula 3 champion Akbar Ebrahim.

Career

Ebrahim started his career in karting and became Formula LGB Champion in 2004. In 2005 he drove in the Asian Formula BMW, finishing in fifth place overall. In the A1GP 2005/2006 season Ebrahim started in six races for the team in his home country. The following summer, he drove in the British Formula Renault, in which he reached the 24th place overall. In the A1GP 2006/2007 season Ebrahim started again for his country. He then competed in the Asian Formula Renault V6 with five victories and was runner-up behind James Winslow.

2008 Ebrahim drove for David Price Racing in GP2 Asia Series. His teammate was for a race Andy Souček and for the remainder of the season Diego Nunes. With a ninth place as best result he finished at the end of the season without points 26th place overall. In the regular GP2 2008 season Ebrahim was not used in contrast to his teammates. Instead, he took part in several races of the Asian Formula Renault V6 and was with two wins in seventh place. 2009 Ebrahim went into the revived Formula 2 at the start and finished the season in 17th place overall. He also began as a guest in two races of the German Formula 3 Cup. 2010 Ebrahim denied his second season in Formula 2 at the last race weekend, he scored his first with a third place podium placement in the formula 2 end of the season, he finished tenth overall. 2011 Ebrahim went again in Formula 2 at the start. After the sixth race weekend he got out of the series. At the end of the season he was on the 15th place in the driver standings.

2012 Ebrahim went to North America in the Indy Lights for Fan Force United at the start. After the first five races, his team separated from him and replaced him with Bryan Clauson. In the drivers' standings, he was 13 Following Ebrahim took for Sunred part in a meeting of the FIA GT1 World Championship.
