Armand Krajnc

Armand Krajnc ( born August 7, 1973 in Malmö) is a Swedish boxer Slovenian origin and former world champion of the WBO middleweight.

Amateur

He played as an amateur boxer 70 fights, of which he won 62. In 1995 he participated in the half- middleweight in the world championships in Berlin, but different in the second preliminary round by point defeat against the Czech Pavel Polakovič.

Also at the European Championships in 1996 in Vejle, Denmark, he lost in the light middleweight in the preliminary round just on points against the Ukrainian Sergei Gorodnichew.

Professional

He was still in 1996 in Germany with Universum Box-Promotion pro and won his first 21 fights against opponents with building often struggle negative balance. Already on 14 February 1998, he won the International German Championship middleweight title; he defeated while the unbeaten Croats Vedran Akrap at the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart. He scored another success only a month later against the Albanians stretcher Ahmeti ( 26-4 ).

After WBO titlist Bert Schenk in 1999 his title due to injury extended period of time could not defend, this was denied him. The Ascended in the meantime the interim world champion Briton Jason Matthews (21-1 ) was then appointed to the WBO champion. Krajnc received on 27 November 1999 in Lübeck, the chance for the title to boxing and won by TKO superior in the eighth round, where he had his opponent in the first round on the ground.

In March 2000, he defended the title by whacked in the second round against the Americans Jonathan Corn ( 29-2 ), and in October 2000 by TKO in the sixth round against unbeaten Bert Schenk ( 24-0 ). Due to a dispute with his promoter universe he resigned the title in June 2001, but received him shortly afterwards by the WBO back. In November 2001, he suggested in his third title defense the Swede Paolo Roberto ( 23-2 ).

On April 6, 2002, he lost the title in Copenhagen by a point defeat to the unbeaten Namibian Harry Simon ( 22-0 ). He then went on to the Super Middleweight, but lost completely surprising his next planned as construction battle duel with the Russians Sergei Tatewosjan ( 15-3 ) early. He could win the next three fights and then became a challenger to IBF and WBA titlist Sven Ottke ( 33-0 ). Krajnc clearly lost the fight on points and ended, as well as Ottke, then his career.

In January 2007 Krajnc want to return to Gothenburg at the first Profiboxveranstaltung in Sweden since 1969 in the ring. For medical reasons, his license was however denied.
