Armando Castellazzi

Armando Castellazzi ( born October 7, 1904 in Milan, Italy, † January 4, 1968 ) was an Italian football player and coach.

Career

Armando Castellazzi spent his entire playing career at Inter Milan, for which he, in a 2-1 away victory against Calcio Padova, first aground in the A- team on 24 February 1924. Over more than ten years he was one of the mainstays in the defensive midfield the Nerazzurri. In the first Serie A season in history, 1929/30, Castellazzi was able to celebrate his only Italian Cup as a player. In 1933, he was with Inter in the final of Mitropapokals, the predecessor of today's European Cup, but which was lost to FK Austria Wien.

In the Italian national Armando Castellazzi denied a total of three games. He made his debut on December 1, 1929 in his hometown of Milan in a 6-1 against Portugal. In 1934 he was part of the squad of Italians who secured under coach Vittorio Pozzo at the World Cup in Germany the title. His only game played Castellazzi in the 1-1 draw in the first quarterfinal match against Spain.

After 13 years, a total of 261 games and 16 goals in Inter- Dress Armando Castellazzi ended in the summer of 1936, his playing career and moved to the dugout the Nerazzurri. The season 1936/37, it was concluded under his leadership from a disappointing seventh place in the table. 1937/38, won the team, especially thanks to a towering Giuseppe Meazza, the fourth league title in club history. Castellazzi was the first person ever who managed to win the Scudetto as a player and as a coach.
