Armando Nannuzzi

Armando Nannuzzi ( born September 21, 1925 in Rome, † 14 May 2001 Ostia ) was an Italian cinematographer.

Life

Nannuzzis film career began in 1942 when he accompanied his first film in the function of Kameraschwenkers, which he held until 1955. It worked especially with Arturo Gallea. His first film was mainly responsible photographed Carlo Lizzanis Lo svitato. He became one of the most respected cinematographers of the Italian film, which was known in particular for the onset of light and shadow effects. Exemplary his camera work for Luchino Visconti's Ludwig II and The Damned be mentioned. Also for European and Hollywood productions Nannuzzi was committed. Time of his nearly 100 films he has worked with such diverse directors such as Franco Zeffirelli, John Sturges, Mauro Bolognini (with whom he turned from 1957 to 1982 ), and Roger Corman. With the filming of Stephen King's Maximum Overdrive, he lost an eye in an accident.

1974 and 1976 he made two films as a director with prominent guests and Raimondo Del Balzo and after a novel by Ugo Moretti, however, soon perished in what was then oversupply.
