The Armenian national ice hockey team is the men's selection team of the Armenian Ice Hockey Federation, the irregularly participating in the Ice Hockey World Championships since 2004.

History

Originally Armenia should first start already at the Ice Hockey World Championship 2003 ( Division III), but the team was denied entry due to incorrectly filled-in visa applications so that their first appearance was postponed to international ice for one year. 2004 in Reykjavik ( Iceland ), the team could not win any point, but was able to defeat compared to the subsequent World Cup in Mexico still keep in the frame. 2005, the team started with a 1:33 defeat against South Africa in the tournament, losing to Ireland 1:23, 3:38 Luxembourg and ultimately suffered their heaviest defeat against Mexico ( 0:48 ). So were at the end of five own 142 against opposing goals.

The first successes had by the team at the 2006 World Cup ( Division III). After the team to the Division II relegated Turkey defeated with 3:8, followed against Ireland on 27 April 2006, the first World Cup victory.

Shortly before the 2007 World Cup ( Division III) drew the Armenian Ice Hockey Federation once again back his team from the tournament. For the World Cup 2008 Armenia therefore had to play in a qualifying tournament for Division 3. However, it refused to submit the passports of the players in time. The team was therefore disqualified after the tournament and scored all games with 0:5.

2010 Armenia was first entrusted with the alignment of a group of World Cup Division III. This home advantage could also make use of the same and by three victories over South Africa ( 9:2 ), North Korea (7:6 ) and Mongolia ( 15-0 ) win the first round. In the final game to move up the team then failed with 2:5 to North Korea. In retrospect, all the games of Armenia were canceled due to missing permissions for used game players. In May 2010, Armenia was suspended indefinitely due to the repeated discrepancies.

Junior

The U20 Men 's National Team had their first World Cup appearance in 2006 in Lithuania and suffered similar high losses, such as the men's team, 2005: The first defeat ( 12:50 v Iceland ) followed by high double-digit defeats to Bulgaria ( 2:21 ), Lithuania ( 1:47 ) and Turkey ( 3:28 ). But here increased the results in the second year (2007 in Ankara), as the team was able to earn two victories and one defeat after extra time.

At the World Cup 2008 U-20 Junior occupied with two losses and four wins third place in the Division III, since the team did not participate in the World Cup finals (in 2010 ).

The U18 team took far ( as of 2010) only at the World Championship 2008 in part. They occupied the last place with no points of Division III, Group B.
