Armin Emrich

Armin Emrich ( born June 16, 1951 in Bad Kreuznach ) is a German handball coach and former handball player. From 2005 to early 2009, he was the coach of the German national handball team for women. Emrich is married and has four sons. The professional head of sports at the Higher Education Authority Freiburg im Breisgau is domiciled in Allmannsweier.

Its active time in the Bundesliga was from 1972 to 1982 at the clubs Frisch Auf Göppingen ( 1972-1982, 1st Bundesliga), TSG Oßweil and TuS Hofweier.

His international debut was Emrich on September 28, 1973 in Dortmund during the game against the GDR. Between 1973 and 1976 he completed 27 matches in which he scored 22 goals. In 1974 he was with the German national team at the World Championships 9 in the GDR.

From 1982 Emrich worked as a handball coach. He coached the following teams:

In January 2009 he resigned for personal reasons from his coaching job back at the German Handball Federation (DHB ).

His successes as a coach include:

  • Rise in 1986 and 1989 in the 1st Bundesliga with TuS Schutterwald
  • 6th place at the World Cup in Sweden in 1993 with the German national handball team of men
  • 4th place 2006 European Championships
  • 3rd place 2007 World Cup
