Armin Shimerman

Armin Shimerman ( born November 5, 1949 in Lakewood, New Jersey ) is an American actor.

Life

Born and raised Shimerman in Lakewood, New Jersey. When he was 16 years old, his family moved to Los Angeles, where he was enrolled by his mother in a theater group in order to improve his social life. Later he graduated at the University of California, Los Angeles and shortly thereafter received a teaching position at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. He pursued a career in theater and eventually moved to New York. Later he returned to Los Angeles, where he got roles in two CBS series. This was the beginning of his television career.

He is best known probably as the Ferengi bartender Quark in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, but his Star Trek career began in the episode The Last Outpost of Star Trek: The Next Generation, in which he played another Ferengi.

In addition to Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, John de Lancie, Michael Ansara and Richard Poe, he is one of six actors who have played the same role in three different Star Trek series. He played Quark in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager.

Shimerman is also known as rector Snyder in Buffy - the Vampire Slayer. He also had a role in the series Sledge Hammer! as a designer of the RoboCop parody Hammeroid in the series Stargate SG -1 as one of the Nox, as Stan the caddy in an episode of Seinfeld and an episode of Charmed - Magical Witches and guest appearances in the series Judging Amy, Nip / Tuck - Beauty has its price, Boston Legal, and Warehouse 13

Since 1996, the actor is occasionally heard as a voice actor for video games, including Gothic 3 and Bioshock.

Shimerman has written several books that provide a science-fiction based on the life of Dr. John Dee.
