Arnara

Arnara is a town in Lazio, Frosinone in central Italy with 2372 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). It is located 11 km southeast of Frosinone and 95 km south-east of Rome.

Geography

Arnara situated on a hill above the valley of the Sacco in the countryside of Ciociaria.

History

The area of Arnara was inhabited since ancient times. Built 756 Aistulf, King of the Lombards, here is the Torre Langobarda to dominate in the war against the Pope for the Via Latina and take a strategic position against Rome. From this attachment, the castle, which later belonged to the noble family since Ceccano and in 1450 came to the Colonna family originated.
