Arnaud Desplechin

Arnaud Desplechin (* 31 October 1960 in Roubaix ) and Arnaud Robert Jean André Marie Desplechin is an award-winning French filmmaker.

The writer Marie Desplechin and screenwriter Raphaëlle Desplechin are his sisters, his brother Fabrice Desplechin, who are full-time diplomat, he uses frequently in his films.

He studied at the University of Paris III and concluded on IDHEC 1984. With his fellow Pascale Ferran, Noémie Lvovsky and Éric Rochant he also worked after graduation. First, he started as a cameraman, his first full-length feature film The Guard (La sentinelle ) earned him a nomination in Cannes and his co- writing and starring Emmanuel Salinger César one.
