Arne Duncan

Arne Duncan ( born November 6, 1964 in Chicago ) is an American politician (Democrat ). He is since January 20, 2009, the Minister for Education, Education and Science of the United States of America.

Life

Arne Duncan was born in 1964 as son of the professor of psychology at the University of Chicago, Starkey Duncan and his wife Susan. He studied sociology at Harvard, graduating in 1987 with a dissertation on The values ​​, aspirations and opportunities of the urban underclass magna cum laude.

From 1987 to 1991 Duncan played in the National Basketball League for the South East Melbourne Magic's in Australia.
