Arne Isacsson

Arne Isacsson ( born March 21, 1917 in Ronneby, † 25 September 2010) was a Swedish art teacher and painter who was known primarily for his watercolors.

Biography

Isacsson, who was from 1944 to 1946 students from Otte Sköld, explored in his own work, among others, the properties of depigmentation by large amounts of water.

He was a professor of watercolor technique also founder of the School of Fine Arts in Gerlesborg, the later a branch office in Stockholm, built and gave courses in southern France.

For his artistic merits King Gustav VI awarded him. Adolf from the Medal of the Royal Swedish bodyguard. In addition, it was 1999, the Illis Quorum, the highest civilian award for a single person, awarded by the Swedish Government. 2004 awarded him the Faculty of Arts of the University of Umea an honorary doctorate. He was married to the painter Margareta Blomberg.

His works are found in the Swedish National Museum, Gripsholm Castle and numerous other Swedish and European museums.
