Course

The Arnhem Highway branches off about 35 km south of Darwin, near the village of McMinns Lagoon to the east of the Stuart Highway (N1 ) from. The first major town on the highway is Humpty Doo. The village is surrounded by extensive mango plantations. The area has since become home to many animal species.

After about 20 km, the route runs further in a southeasterly direction until it reaches the crossing of the River Mary River to the southern point.

After another 20 km of the Arnhem Highway reaches the Kakadu National Park. He crossed the Wildman River, the West Alligator River and the South Alligator River.

Finally the road reaches its end point Jabiru, the largest town in Kakadu National Park. Meet here except the Arnhem Highway from the south of the Kakadu Highway, north of the road from Ubirr and from the east the road from Jabiru East, the airport and the Ranger uranium mine together.

The highest point in the course of the highway is 78 m, the lowest 3 m.
