Arnold Bakery

The Arnold Bakery ( Arnold Bakery ), also known as Southern Barber Shop, is a historic commercial building in Austin, Texas. Situated in the eastern part of central Austin and was built in 1890. The building was used not only as a bakery, but the African American community was also used during the 20th century for many other purposes, including as a food room and artist studio with living possibility. In 2000, the decaying building was acquired as part of urban renewal project of the Austin Revitalization Authority and subsequently sold to a local design company that renovated the building from 2002 to 2003. 2004, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
