Arnold Dreyblatt

Arnold Dreyblatt (* 1953 in New York) is an installation and performance artist, composer and musician.

Life and work

Dreyblatt studied composition and comparative musicology at Wesleyan University ( studied composition with Alvin Lucier ) and media studies at the State University of Buffalo / USA ( studies with Woody and Steina Vasulka, Paul Sharits. 1975-1976 ). He operated private composition studies with La Monte Young ( 1975-1977 ). Dreyblatt lived in Berlin since 1984. At the Academy of Fine Arts Saar, he held a visiting professorship, Intermedia (2001-2003). Since 2009 Dreyblatt Professor of Media Arts - Art with media at the Muthesius Academy of Kiel. He is a member of the Berlin Academy of Arts since 2007.

He has presented his works in the following exhibitions: Gallery Ozwei, Berlin ( 1992); Arken Museum for Modern Art, Copenhagen ( 1996); Felix Meritis Foundation, Amsterdam (1998); Nationalgalerie im Hamburger Bahnhof ( 1999); City Gallery Saarbrücken, (2002); Galerie Anselm Dreher, Berlin (2003 ); Jewish Museum, Frankfurt ( 2005); Nationalgalerie im Hamburger Bahnhof ( 2006); Gallery e / static, Torino (2007). Dreyblatt has numerous concerts, among others, given in Berlin, Paris, Dublin, New York, Austin and London.
