Arnold Keyserling

Arnold Keyserling ( Alexander Arnold Constantine Herbert Otto Heinrich Graf Keyserling, born February 9, 1922 in Friedrichsruh, † September 7, 2005 in Matrei am Brenner ) was a German - Austrian philosopher and scholar of religion.

Life

Arnold Keyserling was the son of the philosopher and writer Hermann Graf Keyserling and a great-grandson of Otto von Bismarck. In his father, the " School of Wisdom " in Darmstadt Institute, reversed in the 1920s, well-known writers and thinkers such as Carl Jung, Richard Wilhelm, Hermann Hesse, Oscar AH Schmitz and Rabindranath Tagore. So the young Keyserling came early to enjoy a full humanistic education. When the Nazis came to power, the family was ostracized as subversive and the " School of Wisdom " forced closed. 1939, after the Anschluss was Arnold Keyserling, the then law at the University of Vienna studied, expelled from the university.

After the war, Arnold Keyserling learned in Alpbach Wilhelmine von Auersperg ( born June 18, 1921), whom he married after five -year engagement. Together they took, partly by motorcycle, extensive travel.

He put this music on the one hand with the construction of his " Chakraphon " to, an electronic organ with a pentatonic tuning and limiting the harmonics on octaves. On the other hand he wrote with Ralph Losey, an American lawyer, several books on the subject; the latter also produced two CDs with " Chakra Music".

After Arnold Keyserling's death in 2005, his wife Wilhelmina took over the management of the study group, further was working as a yoga teacher and art therapist; She died on 4 October 2010.
