Arnold Silverstone, Baron Ashdown

Arnold Silverstone, Baron Ashdown of Chelwood in the County of East Sussex ( born September 28, 1911 in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales; † July 24, 1977 ) was a British businessman and politician of the Conservative Party, who as a life peer in 1975 due to the Life peerages Act 1958 a member of the House of Lords was.

Life

Silverstone came from a Welsh family and worked as an entrepreneur. In addition, he was active in the Conservative Party and was for a time its treasurer.
