Arnulf Herrmann

Arnulf Herrmann ( born December 12, 1968 in Heidelberg ) is a German composer.

Life

Herrmann studied at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich piano with Gernot Sieber, then at the Musikhochschule Dresden composition with Wilfried Krätzschmar as well as music theory and piano at Arkadi Zenzipér. From 1995 to 1996 he was an Erasmus exchange student at the Conservatoire de Paris ( CNSMDP ) with Gérard Grisey and Emmanuel Nunes. He then studied at the Berlin University of the Arts ( now the University of the Arts ) composition with Friedrich Goldmann and music theory with Hartmut Fladt and Gösta Neuwirth. In 2002 he completed his studies with Hanspeter Kyburz and Jörg Mainka off at the Academy of Music " Hanns Eisler" Berlin.

Arnulf Herrmann works closely with some of the leading international contemporary music ensembles such as the Ensemble intercontemporain, the sound of Wien, Ensemble musikFabrik and Ensemble Modern. His pieces are sold at home and abroad as well as at festivals such as the Donaueschingen Music Days, the Witten Days for New Chamber Music or Wien Modern played.

In 2003, Herrmann a lecturer in theory, analysis, and ear training at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" Berlin, since 2004 he is there as a main subject taught composition since 2006 and also worked as a lecturer in instrumentation and analysis.

  • Water, UA: March 2012, Munich Biennale; Libretto: Nico Bleutge. In 2011 were presented excerpts from the opera as part of the Witten Days for New Chamber Music. In June 2012, it was because it was produced in collaboration with the Frankfurt Opera, Opera listed in the LAB in Frankfurt Schmidt street.
