Aron Baynes

Aron Baynes ( born December 9, 1986 in Gisborne, New Zealand) is a professional Australian basketball player.

Career

His career began in college in Washington State. From there, he moved in 2009 to the Lithuanian BC Lietuvos Rytas top club, with whom he also Lithuanian champion in the season 2009/2010. There he completed his first games in the Euro League, the highest European basketball competition. In 27 games he came in the Lithuanian League to 9.3 points, 3.6 rebounds in 13.6 minutes playing time. In the Euro League, he scored in ten games averaging 5.5 points and 3.0 rebounds in 12.7 minutes.

From the 2010/2011 season he played for the EWE Baskets Oldenburg. Due to the unsatisfactory course of the season EWE Baskets broke the contract with Baynes but already after the season back on.

After further stops in Greece and Slovenia Baynes moved in January 2013 to North America in the NBA. He received a contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
