History

The community was dominated by agriculture, especially from wine and olive production. Part of the production was awarded " royal wines " and sold to Paris. Two mills are found in the municipality, both date back to around the 11th century. In the 14th century, the population suffered very severely from the plague. Because of the expansion of the place, the walls were demolished in 1732. In 1890 there were 290 acres of vines, which were almost completely destroyed by the phylloxera. Only in 1980, the stock had largely recovered with 200 acres again.
