The Arpe, called the upper reaches Brachter Bach, is a 7.3 km long, orographic left tributary of the Wenne in North Rhine -Westphalia, Germany. The creek flows to the west of Hochsauerlandkreises and should not be confused with the eponymous creek Arpe the Wenne in mountains.

Geography

The Arpe springs to the saddle between Bracht ( 599.1 m) and Helle ( 620.9 m) at an altitude of 501 m above sea level. NN as Brachter Bach. From here, the creek flows mainly to the northeast. In the area of the village Bracht of the creek is piped. From the mouth of the Schleddesiepen, about 1 km northeast of Bracht, the river is called Arpe. After flowing through the homonymous village Arpe the creek empties into Niederberndorf at an altitude of 339 m above sea level. NN on the left into the Wenne.

On its 7.3 km long road of Bach overcomes a difference in altitude of 162 m, corresponding to an average bed slope of 22.2 ‰. The Arpe drains a 17.447 km ² large catchment area over Wenne, Ruhr and Rhine to the North Sea.

The most important tributary of the Arpe is the 4.5km-long mill creek.
