Ergamenes, also Ergamenes I or Arkamaniqo, a Nubian king was in the 3rd century BC ( 270 BC ). He is considered the first ruler of the Meroitic period.

Ergamenes appears in Diodorus ( 3.2.1-7.3 ), who in turn refers to Agatharchides. He is said to have been a contemporary of Ptolemy II, which provides a chronological point of focus in the Meroitic history.
