Arras-sur-Rhône

Arras -sur -Rhône is a commune with 531 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in Ardèche, in the Rhône -Alpes. Its inhabitants are Arragéois (it) called.

Geography

Arras is located on the left bank of the Rhône, surrounded by vineyards, in the north of the department. The municipality borders the municipalities of Saint- Vallier and sarras. The next largest city is Tournon -sur -Rhône in nine kilometers southeast. The river ozone, which crosses the town, flows into the Rhône.

History

The remains of a Roman aqueduct show that the municipality was inhabited in ancient times.

In the Middle Ages the place between the two co- managers Soubise and Jovyac was divided. In the 17th century the church was added to the heritage of the province of Tournon and then belonged to the realm of Montmorency, then the Lévy- Ventadour and the Rohan - Soubise. On July 25, 1925, the municipality of Arras was appended to better distinguish the toponym sur -Rhône.
