Arrondissement of Agen
The Agen Arrondissement is an administrative district in the department of Lot- et- Garonne in the French region of Aquitaine.
History
On 4 March 1790, founded " Agen district " with the establishment of the department of Lot- et- Garonne, a, being the present arrondissement in parts. On February 17, 1800 from the district was established.
On November 4, 1808 parts of the arrondissement ( the cantons Auvillar and Valence ) the then newly founded Tarn- et- Garonne ( Midi-Pyrenees region ) were slammed.
From September 10 1926 to June 1, 1942 were part of the dissolved during this period arrondissement Arrondissement Nerac to Agen.

Geography
The district is bordered to the north by the district of Villeneuve -sur -Lot, on the east by the district Castelsarrasin in Tarn- et- Garonne (Midi- Pyrénées), to the south by the district Condom in Gers, Midi-Pyrenees, and also in west on the arrondissements Nerac and Marmande.
