Arrondissement of Dax
The district Dax is an administrative district in the Landes department in the French region of Aquitaine.
History
On 4 March 1790, founded with the establishment of departments of Landes, a " district Dax ", being the present arrondissement in parts. On February 17, 1800 from the district was established.
With the dissolution of the arrondissement of Saint -Sever on September 10, 1926 four cantons were added to the district Dax.

Geography
The district is bordered to the north and east by the district of Mont -de- Marsan, in the south of the arrondissement Pau and Bayonne in the department of Pyrénées- Atlantiques and to the west by the Gulf of Biscay.
