Arrondissement of Le Mans

The Arrondissement Le Mans (French Arrondissement du Mans ) is an administrative unit of the French Sarthe in the Pays de la Loire. The prefecture of the department of Sarthe in Le Mans is also the administrative seat of the arrondissement. Before the administrative territorial reform of 15 February 2006 were part of the Arrondissement Le Mans 23 cantons; five cantons switched to the district of La Flèche and six cantons of the arrondissement Mamers.

The Arrondissement Le Mans is 837.38 km ² and has 259,722 inhabitants ( 2006), which corresponds to a population density of 310 inhabitants per km ².
