Arrondissement of Thann
The Arrondissement of Thann is an administrative district in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region of France.
History
On 4 March 1790, founded with the establishment of the department of Haut-Rhin and the District Belfort, who at the time also the area now included with Thann arrondissements. On February 17, 1800 from the District Belfort was founded.
On May 18, 1871, the area was re- established as a county in the district of Upper Alsace Thann in the National Rural Alsace-Lorraine. The group comprised 524 km ² and at that time had 60 475 inhabitants in 1885.
As part of the reintegration of Alsace to France on 28 June 1919 ( Treaty of Versailles) was formed from among the Thann Thann arrondissement.

Geography
The district is bordered to the north by the arrondissement of Colmar and Guebwiller, on the east by the district Mulhouse, on the south by the district Altkirch, on the southwest by the Belfort Arrondissement in the department of Territoire -de- Belfort ( Franche -Comté ) and to the west by the district Epinal in the Vosges department (Lorraine ).
