Arrondissement of Vire
The arrondissement Vire is an administrative district in the department of Calvados in the French region of Lower Normandy.
History
On 4 March 1790, " District Vire " founded with the establishment of the department of Calvados, a, who agreed essentially with the present arrondissement. The district was the founding of the arrondissement on February 17, 1800 to the arrondissement Vire.

Geography
The district is bordered to the north by the arrondissement of Bayeux, on the east by the arrondissement of Caen, in the southeast of the arrondissement Argentan in Orne, in the southwest on the arrondissement Avranches and to the west the district of Saint- Lô, the last two in the department of Manche.

The district is subdivided into six cantons:

- Condé- sur- Noireau
- Saint -Sever- Calvados
- Vassy
- Vire
