Ars longa, vita brevis

Vita brevis, ars longa. ( German: Life is short, art is long. ) is the Latin translation of an aphorism of the Greek physician Hippocrates ( Aph. 1.1 ). In the original, he is: Ὁ μὲν βίος βραχύς, ἡ δὲ τέχνη μακρά.
