Art Students League of New York
The Art Students League of New York in Manhattan is a combination of art students, which was founded in 1875 by Lemuel Wilmarth and some students of the National Academy of Design, and the most influential and best-known Art Students League is. The founders was contrary to the academic work of art schools, they wanted free and at ease to learn and work together. The League initially resided on Fifth Avenue in a small room before moving in 1892 in a large building in the West Fifty- seventh Street, where it has its seat today.
