Arta Terme

Arta Terme ( Friulian Darte ) is a municipality in the province of Udine in Friuli, Italy with 2233 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

The town is located 442m height on the river Bût in Carnia. The neighboring municipalities are Moggio Udinese, Paluzza Paularo, Sutrio, Tolmezzo Treppo Carnico and Zuglio. The town's name derives from the Latin artus ( = narrow), as the valley narrows at this point.

At Arta Terme include ten parts of communes: Avosacco, Cabia, Cedarchis, Inquan, Lavoreit, Lovea, Piano d' Arta, Piedim, Rivalpo and Valle.

History

Even in ancient times, this place was because of its sulphurous source, the fonte Pudia known. Later, the Venetian and friulianischen citizens visited this resort. Among the more prominent guests included the poet Giosuè Carducci. Today there is the source of modern bath complex. In Arta Terme there are 12 hotels and pensions.

In May, a culinary "Festival of spring mushrooms, wild asparagus and mountain chicory ( radic di mont ) " will be held in Arta Terme.

International Institutions

In Arta Terme exists a European meeting place. This we of the " meeting Arta Terme e.V. " wooden churches (Upper Bavaria) entertained. There are in this house, instead of the former Hotel Belvedere, regular retreats and seminars. The house is used for example by the altar and the wooden churches Kolpingjugend Munich Freising.
