ARTE Quartett

The ARTE Quartett was founded in 1995 by the saxophonist Beat Hofstetter, Sascha Armbruster, Andrea Formenti and Beat Kappeler.

His focus is on the interpretation of contemporary, jazzy and free improvised music. The four saxophonists work together with composers and are often involved in the process of composition. Among other developed projects with Urs Leimgruber, Hans Feige Winter, Terry Riley, Michael Riessler, Tim Berne, Fred Frith, Nick Didkovsky, Pierre Favre, Lucas Niggli and Rabih Abou- Khalil, which listed at concerts and festivals at home and abroad and to CDs were released. In the quartet projects arranged and composed the ARTE Quartett own music and puts them in his concerts usually focus on thematic issues before.
