Artegna
Artegna is a municipality southeast of Gemona del Friuli, north of Udine in the Friuli- Venezia Giulia with 2903 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).
The neighboring municipalities are Buja, Gemona del Friuli, Magnano in Riviera, Montenars and Treppo Grande.
1976 Friuli was that lies in an earthquake zone, ravaged by an earthquake, whose epicenter was between Gemona del Friuli and Osoppo.

Pope's visit
On May 3, 1992 attended Pope John Paul II Artegna and gave the people his blessing. To commemorate this event, a blue-gray marble plaque with inscription and Pope medallion was attached to a house at the foot of the castle hill a year later.
