Arthur Barclay

Arthur Barclay ( born July 31, 1854 in Bridgetown, Barbados; † July 10, 1938 ) was President of Liberia.

Arthur Barclay was born in 1854 in Bridgetown, Barbados. Later he emigrated to Liberia. Under President Garretson W. Gibson he had there held the office of Minister of Finance and later became his successor. November 4, 1904 to January 1, 1912 Barclay President of Liberia for the True Whig Party. In the late 1920s he was a member of the League of Nations Commission, which was designed to investigate Fernando Po scandal.
