Arthur Cumming (figure skater)

Arthur Warren Jack Cumming ( born May 8, 1889 in Marylebone, Greater London, † May 9, 1914 in Hammersmith, London ) was a British figure skater who started in a single run and pair skating.

Cumming won at the Olympic Games in London in 1908, the first in which figure skating in the program was the silver medal behind Nikolai Panin in the competition of special characters that it was only at these Olympic games. At 19 he was the youngest competitor in figure skating at these Olympic games.

In the years 1912 and 1914, Cumming became British champion in a single run. At the world championships 1912 he finished third in a single run to fifth place and has also played an even pair skating at the side of Mrs. Cadogan in part, with whom he came in seventh place. In 1913, he started only in pair skating with Mrs. Cadogan and was re- seventh.

In May 1914 Cumming had a motorcycle accident in consequence he contracted tetanus and died a short time later.
