Arthur E. Arling

Arthur E. Arling ( born September 2, 1906 in Missouri; † 16 October 1991 in Yucca Valley, California ) was an American cinematographer.

Life

Arthur E. Arling completed his training at the New York Institute of Technology and then found a job with the Fox Film Corporation. As a member of the camera crew he was, inter alia, Gone involved in the filming of the Wind. Even in military service during World War 2 Arling worked as a cameraman. For his first film as director of photography, The Yearling, he won an Oscar for Best Cinematography. As a result, Arling musicals photographed as well as to develop comedies without a defining style.
